Radiation Therapy Physicists

Maria Bunta, M.S., D.A.B.R.

Maria Bunta is a medical physicist and part owner of INphysics. Maria has over 10 years of experience and is certified by the American Board of Radiology in therapeutic radiologic physics.

Prior to INphysics, Maria worked as a medical physicist at Cancer Care Group, IN, Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, IA, and at Community Hospital in Oradea, Romania. Maria received her Master of Science degree in physics from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, WI, and trained in therapeutic radiologic physics at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, IA.

She has a bachelor’s degree in nuclear physics from “Babes Bolyai” University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and a master degree in radiation physics from the same university. Maria is an approved therapy physicist and approved diagnostic & X-ray tube inspector in the state of Indiana.

Maria’s extensive experience includes intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), HDR, LDR , CT simulation, and intravascular brachytherapy. She has also accepted and commissioned linear accelerators, treatment planning systems, CT simulators, and HDR units.
